Electrotherapeutics and Electrodiagnosis are integral components of physiotherapy, focusing on the use of electrical modalities for both therapeutic intervention and diagnostic evaluation. At KIMS School of Physiotherapy, our program offers comprehensive training in these advanced techniques, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to enhance patient care through modern electro-physical methods.

Electrotherapeutics involves the application of various electrical and physical agents—such as ultrasound, TENS, IFT, laser therapy, and shortwave diathermy—to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, promote tissue healing, and improve muscle function. These modalities are widely used in treating musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.

Electrodiagnosis, on the other hand, focuses on the assessment of neuromuscular function using techniques like nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG). These tools help physiotherapists in identifying nerve injuries, muscular disorders, and the extent of neurological impairment, leading to more accurate diagnoses and targeted treatment plans.
